M dembski - it's hard for Google as they only want profit. Picasa costs (probably less than Googles CEO salary to run per annum) and thay are no longer interested in this particular 'community'. The only community they are now interested in is the mobile phone community - quantity over quality, very little overhead as everything is automatic, but lots of lovely clicks to report to their advertisers. And what do clicks mean?

Lots of money for Google to pay tax on. Read this and move away from Google: jcoinster 13/2/2016, 18:08 น. With Picasa's death my family's timing is perfect. We bought our first Mac in many years (8 to be specific) because my wife was fed up with all the Windows boxes that we have. I wanted Mac OS X again to have access to iMovie (which I miss--NO ONE does video editing like Apple. Either it's too simple like WMM or too complicated like Adobe).

Little did I know that it would be a brilliant move to return to Mac. I'd debated returning to managing photos with Picasa or with Apple Photos. Now, it seems like Apple Photos is a slam dunk. I really think ACDSee is the best alternative.

The pretty basic one that is closest to Picasa and it's features is $50 a year, but probably worth it. Someone else also pointed out to me that if you save the Picasa installer, you can still use Picasa after Google stops supporting it. That is my plan. I'll keep it around as long as I can, but also will subscribe to ACDSee, too. (ไม่รู้จัก) 8/4/2016, 12:08 น. (ไม่รู้จัก) 8/4/2016, 12:10 น. Kees Broekhuizen 9/4/2016, 10:19 น.

Edit photos on mac for free

You're not alone +Rafael D. I threw a bunch of new pics from July in Picasa and let it sync, then I saw only a couple of new pics showing up in my Chromecast. Went back to that PC and saw that Picasa wasn't syncing anymore and I was logged out. I thought it was the 30 days so I logged in again.

Windows or mac for graphic design. I'm not sure if Picasa managed to sync even one new photo and logged me out again. I can login fine in MSIE (and Edge now) and stay logged in but not in Picasa. I'm sure that worked last week when I only had to manually upload my mp4s but all jpgs synced fine and I didn't have to login over and over.

Trying this AM again - same, I get logged out a few seconds after I login. I have a different workflow that avoids the issues with 'Syncing' by not using it:-). Honestly I never did.
