So I bought Samsung 850 EVO, 250GB, and plugged it into my Macbook (Mid-2010, Macbook 7.1). I installed it without mounting screws, because I don't have screwdriver to unscrew the ones from the old HDD (Toshiba, 256GB). I have on a USB thumb drive (16GB) installation of El Capitan. Install issues Samsung Evo 850 250gb El Capitan. I use the disk utility to format the mac SSD as GUID, 1 partition, OSX HFS+ Journaled. It defaults right back to the Built in OSX Graphics driver (so it says on the pref pane).

I don't have the same problem with the other ssd that i have (840 Evo), so i don't thing tha is the SATA cable The EVO 850 and EVO 860 seem to have problems with Unibody MBPs for whatever reason. There are a lot of theories, but it's reported that they'll work with new drive ribbon cables. The only other thing I can think of is that maybe it needs a firmware update. Xaralamposgr wrote: It doen't listed in the StartUp Manager & Disk Utilities. I install the el capitan an hour ago for 5th time and again the same problem. I send it to the technical support of the store where i buy it, the checked it and the say that there is no problem to the ssd Does the drive not show up at all, or just the formatted volumes don't show up.

The thing you might need to do is look at the top where it says View and select 'Show All Devices' from the drop-down menu. How to copy a shape you made in gimp for mac download. The other thing that seems to be reported is that the SATA ribbon cable may be marginal and not work with SSDs.
