According to the Epson website I can potentially get this problem if the printer driver being used contains the name 'Gutenprint'. I checked on the my drivers name and it's called 'EPSON SP2200 (2)', Gutenprint is not part of the drivers name. Looking to do some borderless printing on the Epson 2200? The short answer is that Epson never updated this printer for the newest Mac OS X versions. In place of the Epson print drivers, Mac users can use the Gutenprint universal.

The update was supposed to fix the lack of support for several 2200 features (i.e., borderless printing, automatic paper cutter, and roll paper functionality). I simply can't believe it! Wait for months for a fully functional driver and they release one that doesn't change a thing (maybe fixes a few bugs - not sure about that).

I wouldn't consider buying the printer until a fully functioning driver came out and if, in the mean time, another printer comes along that does work my money will go to that vendor.
