Create purchase order for part included in an item assembly I have created inventory assembly items. I would like to be able to create a purchase order from our company to a Vendor, for a part included in the final assembly item, from the Customer Estimate (since I can't create a purchase order from the Customer Invoice, I have to create an estimate first, so that I can generate the purchase order to our vendor, in order to provide our assembled item to our customer). Because the part itself is included as a part in the inventory assembly item, I set up the parts with different code numbers from the assembled item, to differentiate them. When I generate the purchase order from the estimate, it lists the code number for the assembled item, not the individual parts (I need to order the individual parts to complete our order for the assembled item). I had entered the vendors' part numbers, including the preferred vendors into the assembly item when I set it up as an item, assuming that it would then choose the part numbers in the purchase order.

Why isn't the purchase order giving me the option of the various part numbers for ordering? It is giving me only the final assembly item code number.
